Since February 24, 2022, 68 employees of the State Emergency Service have died. In addition, five rescuers were captured by the Russians. Serhiy Kruk, the head of the State Emergency Service, said about 201 injured employees of the State Emergency Service: “During the evacuation measures that we were engaged in together with the police, in particular in Irpen, Buch, Mariupol and on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, we were taken prisoner, our equipment was taken away, they were fired upon”.

Serhii Kruk also emphasized that the Geneva Convention applies to the employees of the State Emergency Service.

The Russian Federation announced that 380 Ukrainian orphans were illegally transferred to Russian families

The total number of deported minors may reach 150,000.

Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, stated that 380 orphans from the occupied territories of Ukraine were “placed” in Russian families.

As of March 2023, Russia illegally deported 2,161 Ukrainian orphans. Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets previously said that the total number of illegally deported children, including those who were deported with their parents, may reach 150,000. More than 16,000 children officially verified by Ukraine remain in Russia.

Recently, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova. They are accused of illegally moving Ukrainian children.
