As a result of the enemy attack, one person died and more than 16 private houses were damaged – the invaders targeted the private sector of the city of Nikopol.

On February 8, around 11 p.m., the Russian military fired heavy artillery at private houses in the city of Nikopol.

A 35-year-old local resident, who received a shrapnel wound to the neck, died as a result of being hit by shells. At the time of the projectile’s arrival, the man was sleeping in bed in his house.

Also, more than 16 private houses suffered significant destruction – facades, roofs, walls, and windows were damaged. Gas stoves, outbuildings, fences, garages were destroyed in the yards, and one car was also damaged.

Investigative teams are currently working at the sites of the hits. Law enforcement officers of Nikopol are documenting the consequences of Russian war crimes, conducting an inspection of the area and collecting physical evidence of Russian aggression.

Russian troops shelled the center of Kherson, one person was killed, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported in a telegram.

“Rasists once again shelled the center of Kherson. “An elderly Kherson man was killed by enemy artillery fire when he was caught by fire on the street,” the message reads.

Also, according to the regional military administration, the Russian army attacked the children’s rehabilitation center for the fourth time.

“Due to constant Russian shelling, the institution, which not so long ago taught and raised children with special educational needs, is battered by Russian shells,” the regional military administration added.

The Ukrainian military de-occupied the right-bank part of the Kherson region during the summer-autumn of 2022. The regional center was released on November 11. Almost immediately after that, Russian troops began shelling Kherson and the regions of the region controlled by the Ukrainian government.

In addition, the regional military administration was informed that around noon the Russian army opened fire on a residential quarter of the regional center in the Dnipro district. The enemy hit the houses of the Kherson people – the roof and walls were damaged, the windows and doors were shattered by the blast wave and projectile fragments. A grandfather and a 5-year-old grandson were in the house, at the time of the shelling they were preparing dinner in the part of the building that was not hit by an enemy shell. And on Lomonosov Street, enemy shells damaged a house. Two people were injured – a 40-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy. Both have a slight contusion, doctors treated them on the spot.

In Kherson, during enemy fire, two employees of the city water supply company, who were working on one of the facilities to provide water to the townspeople, were wounded.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Russian army struck the center of Kherson, resulting in the death of an elderly man.

The enemy struck the children’s rehabilitation center for the fourth time. Now the institution is battered by Russian shells.

In addition, a Russian projectile hit a residential building in the Dnipro district of the city. It happened around noon.

The building was seriously damaged – the roof and walls were badly damaged, windows and doors were shattered by the blast wave and projectile fragments.

“Miraculously, no one was injured. During the shelling, the couple went shopping to the store, the grandfather and his 5-year-old grandson remained in the house. Fortunately, at the time of the shelling, they were preparing dinner in the part of the house that was not hit by an enemy shell.”

During February 8, the occupiers attacked the Kherson region 39 times. The enemy used artillery, MLRS, mortars.

In particular, “filtration measures” are being carried out by the occupiers in Novotroitsky, Kherson region. First of all, this concerns those who worked in Ukrainian state institutions and refuse to cooperate with the Russian occupation administration and go to work.

The invaders also threaten that persons who do not receive Russian passports by March will automatically be subject to “filtering measures”.

In the settlements of Gromivka, Chaplinka, Mala Kardashinka, Zelene, Chulakivka and Novovolodymyrivka of the Kherson region, the Russians conduct daily searches, atrocities and robberies of local residents. Invaders steal household appliances, phones and all valuables.

The Russians in the occupied territories carry out forced passporting of the population, threaten to stop issuing salaries and using real estate. This was stated by the chairman of Melitopol of the Zaporizhzhia region at a briefing.

Fedorov stated that the occupiers are doing this in order to involve as many people as possible in their criminal activities, since a year after the invasion they do not have the support of the local population.

“Currently, they have set new rules: whoever does not have a Russian passport will not be able to use his real estate from June 1, because it will not be in the new registers invented by the Russians. The same situation with cars. The same situation with wages or social assistance. A person who does not have a passport of the Russian Federation, but works in the Melitopol district, for him, taxes will be twice as high – it is more than 36% of the salary,” said Fedorov.

After the attack on Ukraine, the Russian occupying forces seized part of the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. On February 26, 2022, after battles with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers entered the 150,000-strong Melitopol.

The occupiers could not take the regional center of Zaporizhzhia. Therefore, they decided to make Melitopol the “capital” of the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhia region and held a pseudo-referendum there on the “accession” of the region to the Russian Federation.

• it will be difficult to do business without a Russian passport;
• holders of Ukrainian passports were deprived of the opportunity to receive some social benefits;
• from March 1, only holders of Russian passports will receive pensions;
• Russian passports are required to reissue a car;
• in the absence of a Russian passport, it will be impossible to own property.

“They make criminals of the residents of the occupied territories, who themselves have been put on the edge of survival. And they think that this way they will be able to subjugate the people. Despite pressure and intimidation, even with Russian passports, which they will be forced to take in order not to die of hunger, the unconquered residents Temporarily occupied territory remain loyal to Ukraine and expect victory the most,” Fedorov said.
