The cost of destroyed objects in Kharkiv is 9.5 billion dollars, said the chairman of Kharkiv Igor Terekhov.
According to the chairman, neither a single city nor even the entire state will be able to cover such costs. This is possible only for international partners and private investors together. At the same time, the city authorities should create transparent conditions and guarantees of investment protection.
According to the chairman, the central government should also create comfortable conditions for investors.
“We really need the creation of special investment regimes, in particular, the taxation regime. These are quite obvious things, because it is high taxes that often discourage capital investments, and their reduction – attracts. If we want to attract private money and we want to do it now, and not someday , then we need to offer something to investors. And this is precisely where the central authorities could significantly help us. Many things need to be changed at the legislative level. And at the local government level, we will manage ourselves, because we know our city better than anyone else,” – said Terekhov.
The chairman reminded that about 5,000 houses were damaged by shelling. At the same time, 500 houses are no longer subject to restoration.
But, according to the chairman, the current situation also opens up new opportunities: to build new modern houses. According to the mayor, these will be very comfortable houses, necessarily adapted for people with disabilities and meeting all safety standards.
