The drone shot down on September 15 over Lithuania was carrying an explosive charge, the country’s Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas reported.

“Operation “Shield” has been completed. According to the final data, an explosive object was discovered. Sappers neutralized him. Specialists will continue to investigate and analyze the drone,” he said.

The drone flew to Lithuania from the territory of Belarus and was shot down by Italian fighters stationed in Šiauliai.

An air alert was declared in several areas.
