The eighth day of russian armed attack. Chernihiv continues to be shelled

Chernihiv, a city of 300 thousands citizens, 95 km from Russian border, not the first day is under shelling of russian troops. Civilian and urban infrastructure are suffering.

In the morning of March 3 in Chernihiv, Russian troops fired on an oil depot in Chernihiv. A tank with more than 4 tons of fuel is burning.

Later today Russian troops launched a missile strike on a multistory residential area in the center of Chernihiv. Many houses were damaged: broken windows, damaged walls, roofs, and sometimes even floors.

Rescuers found from the rubble bodies of 22 people. Probably people died.

So far the departures from the city are mined. “All departures from the city are mined. “Mined” means that there are mines, and you can blow them up” – the Head of Chernihiv Regional State Administration Vyacheslaw Chaus states. The head of the region urged citizens not to endanger themselves and their loved ones, and to stay at home or in shelters.

On March 2, a blow was struck on the Chernihiv residential area aswell.

Chernihiv District Hospital building was severely damaged. Some people are transferred to other medical institutions. Information about the victims and injured is being clarified.

Dozens of nearby houses (windows, doors, broken roofs, damaged walls) and administrative buildings, including the police department, were severely damaged as well.

The Mayor of the city Vladyslaw Atroshenko said that the day before, on March 1, the enemy made its way to Chernihiv from three directions with shelling, tanks, and artillery, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the attack.

On March 1, it was reported that the occupiers using Grady fired on residential areas too.

On February 28 russian troops aimed at a kindergarten, a house and a shop.

On February 26 a number of civilian objects in Chernihiv were fired upon and destroyed: a kindergarten, a country estate, several gas stations, a huge store, and almost 10 high-rise apartment buildings.

The enemy has been shelling residential districts in Chernihiv for more than few days. The city center was also subjected to armed attacks. Many houses and buildings were damaged and destroyed, a historical monument was destroyed, and many civilians were injured.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops are shelling and destroying key infrastructure, office buildings and homes in cities and villages. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
