This was reported by the head of the joint press center of the Defense Forces of the Tavri region, Yevgeny Yerin.
According to him, during the day the enemy continued shelling Mykolaiv and the region, in particular Ochakiv, which attacked from the south-eastern direction. As a result of massive shelling, about 200 residential buildings were damaged. He also added that the main tactic of the enemy’s actions in this direction is the use of artillery systems and other means of fire influence.
– It’s hard to say where they were aiming. The Russians are just trying to scare the civilian population. This is their main task. But in general, our Ukrainian people are ready for such challenges.
In addition, according to Yerin, the occupiers are trying to carry out sabotage-reconnaissance measures and actions to identify Ukrainian firing positions, in particular in the Kherson area under the cover of islands near the regional center.
– At the same time, we control these issues and cut off any enemy actions with both artillery fire and other means. The entire group of islands and the Kinburn Spit is under our fire control.
The shelling of Kherson does not stop, the enemy targeted the regional children’s hospital.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevich said that the occupiers fired at the regional children’s hospital.
“The racists attacked the medical facility again – they fired at the place where they provide medical care to newborn babies. The 6-story neonatal building was damaged – windows were broken in the building,” he wrote.
It is noted that, fortunately, no one was injured during the shelling.
The war against the civilian population, cultural, educational and healthcare institutions in Kherson continues. Today, the Russian military attacked the territory of the Kherson State University, said Oleksandr Spivakovskyi, rector of the higher education institution.
The windows were damaged, the doors in the main building of the tower were broken. Property in the park area of the tower was also damaged.
Reports of looting by the Russian military continue to come from the de-occupied territories. In the village of Sonyachne during the occupation, the Russian military took over the equipment of the asphalt plant and ransacked the farm, took away heavy equipment, and damaged other property. This was reported by the police of the Kherson region.
Most of the applications concern the theft of private motor vehicles.
In the Kherson region, law enforcement officers recorded cases of Russian looting in two settlements.
This was reported by the Kherson region police. In the liberated Sonyakny (Kherson community), the Russians robbed an asphalt plant.
The invaders stole equipment from it. The occupiers also looted farms in Soniachny, where they stole heavy machinery and damaged other property.
And in occupied Ivanovka, the Russians looted a bank branch. They stole money from vaults, an ATM safe, furniture, computers and other things.
According to the facts of the Russian looting, a pre-trial investigation is underway to prosecute all those involved.
Serhiy Fedorenko, a volunteer from Novokakhov, died in a hospital on the territory of the Kherson region temporarily occupied by the Russians. He was abducted by the Russian occupiers.
This was reported by the Center for Journalistic Investigations with reference to friends and acquaintances of Serhiy Fedorenko.
“On January 10, Serhiy Fedorenko, a 34-year-old volunteer from nearby Novaya Kakhovka, died in the Kakhovka Central City Hospital named after the Pankeev family, in the occupied part of the Kherson region. Russian occupiers kidnapped him a week before. According to Serhiy’s friends, the invaders killed him: there was no “living spot” on the man’s body, the report says.
Serhiy Fedorenko disappeared on January 3. Representatives of the Russian occupation authorities of Novaya Kakhovka stopped the car in which he was driving and detained him and the driver.
In a few days, the detained driver was released – a ransom was paid for him. Serhiy’s seriously ill father decided to learn about his son’s fate. However, the occupation police told him that he was no longer there.
Fedorenko’s colleague was able to find him at the Kakhovka Hospital. After the disappearance, the man was unrecognizable: there were traces of brutal beatings on his body, seven hematomas on his head, broken legs, a tube in his mouth, heavy breathing.
“They simply killed him, tortured him to death,” said Natalia Korzh, a friend of the murdered man.
According to her, she met Serhiy after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. When he was captured for the first time in the summer, Natalia brought him food for 19 days together with a friend. The man refused to leave the occupation, said that he loves Nova Kakhovka very much, since the beginning of the occupation he delivered drinking water, helped set up SIM cards, searched for people, reassured many, inspired hope.
Friends and acquaintances of Fedorenko write on social networks that he was a person with a big heart and helped many people during the occupation. He never hid his pro-Ukrainian position, the Center for Journalistic Investigations notes.
The invaders in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Region are kidnapping local residents, engaging in looting, and robbing businesses.
At least 575 residents of the Kherson region became victims of kidnappings in 2022.
On January 9, the “media” controlled by the occupiers spread the statement of the criminal and fake “head of the committee” Oksana Dobrorez about the alleged “expansion of production” by the illegal company “Titanov Investments” at the “Titan” factory in Armyansk, which was seized by the aggressor, namely, allegedly regarding the “production of fertilizers”. namely “amophos”.
At the same time, the aggressor’s service claims that “ammonia” needed for such production is supplied only in railway tanks, and that such illegal supply to the plant will pass “through the Kherson region”.
In the part of the Kherson region occupied by the aggressor, the railway branch that passes by Armyansk is now effectively a dead end, and therefore it is obvious that the aggressor meant the Vadim station, which is close to the occupied Crimea, from which there is a railway branch to the plant. In fact, the only route for the illegal railway supply of ammonia by the occupiers to the plant can only be the route through the criminal “Crimean Bridge”, Dzhankoy, Armyansk and Vadim.
The start of criminal production by the occupiers on “Titan” under the guise of amphos, components of chemical weapons and explosives is not excluded.
On January 5, the Center of National Resistance reported that the placement of the aggressor’s “radiation, chemical and biological defense troops” was recorded at the Titan plant, which is apparently related to the above-mentioned criminal plans of the occupiers.
Therefore, provocations of the aggressor in several dimensions are possible – both in relation to the production of explosives and in the framework of “accidents” of ammonia tanks either in the occupied Crimea or at the Vadim station.
Also, the occupiers can, in case of criminal launch of “dual purpose” production, illegally speculate on the topic of “Crimean fertilizers” as part of their aggressive manipulations and periodic demands to “unblock the supply of fertilizers to countries that need them.”
