The EU has found evidence of China’s participation in training Russian soldiers fighting against Ukraine

China trained hundreds of Russian soldiers on its territory, who later participated in Russia’s war against Ukraine, and this information was confirmed by the European Union’s special services.

This was reported in Brussels by a senior EU official familiar with the issue on condition of anonymity.

Evidence has been found that China trained hundreds of Russian military personnel for further participation in the aggression against Ukraine.

“The information about China training Russian soldiers has been confirmed by the special services of the EU countries. The training took place at several training bases in China, hundreds of Russian soldiers received it,” said a senior EU official on condition of anonymity.

He noted that China denies the fact of training soldiers who later found themselves in the war on the territory of Ukraine, but the EU has irrefutable evidence.

An EU official said that EU-China relations, and in particular this issue, will be discussed by EU foreign ministers on June 15.

EU-China trade relations will also be discussed, and in particular the dependence of the EU defense industry on Chinese suppliers and the possibility of ending it.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has advocated strengthening EU trade measures against China.

Similarly, European Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič recently said that he wants the EU to follow the example of the US in trade negotiations with China.

At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron convened a video conference with the participation of the G7 countries and China, dedicated to overcoming global economic imbalances.
