On February 3, Russian troops again shelled the historical part, the center and neighborhoods of Kherson.
Residential buildings and educational institutions were targeted.
At the site of the hits, the police examined the damage, interviewed the residents of the houses and recorded the consequences of the Russian shelling.
At the same time, local residents are repairing and closing the windows of houses.
Residents are asking for the help of teams that will be able to close the windows with osb plates.
The press service of the Kherson City Council reported.
The enemy continues to shell Kherson and destroys everything in its path.
Russian troops are attacking homes, critical infrastructure facilities, educational institutions, and health care facilities.
They are 90 or 80. These people have long since retired, and instead of a peaceful old age, they hear explosions and shelling almost every day. They see nurses and doctors more often than grandchildren and children. Elderly people live in such conditions in a geriatric boarding house in Kherson.
Ms. Yaroslav is 87 years old. Her relatives are now abroad, her daughter works in Italy. Grandma stayed in Kherson. She lived in a center for the elderly. The woman says: she was well looked after here. But because of shelling and explosions, it is now dangerous to stay in the city.
“I often heard explosions nearby. I read a lot to distract myself.”
Next to her is Mr. Oleksii. He is 70. He has 2 sons and 2 daughters, but now they are in Germany and Poland. The man says: he was not afraid to live in Kherson, although he often heard explosions nearby. They fed him well in the hospital, but – he says – he missed kebabs, his favorite dish.
There is no bomb shelter in the center for the elderly, where Oleksiy and Yaroslava lived. There are basements, but they are not suitable for hiding from shelling. In addition, many patients are bedridden.
“We closed all the windows of the wards with sandbags, but the patients are still afraid,” says Iryna Kotulya, head of the department of the Kherson Geriatric Hospital.
Some patients are seriously ill. One man had an amputated leg, others suffered a stroke. Therefore, for their safety, they were evacuated from the hospital to Lviv Oblast by special train.
People were brought to the train by ambulances of the international medical organization Doctors Without Borders. Mrs. Yaroslava sings the whole trip; asks to guess how old she is and tries to cheer everyone up. And then he says that he is also worried: even though Lviv Oblast is far from the front, rockets still reach there.
“When will the war end?” asks Ms. Yaroslava. “We will finish sooner.”
“Doctors Without Borders” helps with the evacuation of residents of the Kherson region. In total, the Doctors Without Borders medical train has already transported more than 340 patients from this region to safer cities of Ukraine. In particular, the train has an intensive care unit and carriages for patients of moderate severity. The cars are equipped with defibrillators, ultrasound machines and other equipment. Also, during the trip, patients are accompanied by doctors and nurses.
On November 15, Doctors Without Borders became the first international medical non-governmental organization to enter Kherson after it was recaptured by Ukraine. Doctors conducted more than 818 consultations there in 6 days. Already later, the evacuation train of “Doctors Without Borders” began to arrive in the city.
The Russians abducted Vitaly Moskovenko, a resident of the Kakhov district of the Kherson region.
This was reported by the legal authorities of the Kakhov community.
The abduction took place on January 18 in the village of Vasylivka. Vitaly Moskovenko was kidnapped from his own house. His further fate is unknown.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, the press officer of the defense commandant’s office of the city of Kherson, said that the Russian military, which is stationed on the temporarily occupied left-bank part of the Kherson region, is trying to use shelling tactics that were previously used on Mykolaiv.
First of all, he noted that currently in the Kherson area, the Russian army has deployed “not the best” troops. Explaining this by the fact that the direction is not a priority for counteroffensive combat.
Mykolaiv Oblast and Kherson Oblast are among the leaders in the number of explosive objects. Thus, on January 13, during the day of pyrotechnics, the State Emergency Service discovered and neutralized 289 explosive objects. The territory with an area of 60 hectares was surveyed.
