The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported on medical facilities damaged by Russian troops: 193 “destroyed to the ground”

In more than a year and a half of full-scale war, Russia damaged 1,468 medical institutions in Ukraine, and another 193 were destroyed to the ground, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported.

“The Russian army continues to destroy civilian infrastructure, including medical infrastructure: hospitals, outpatient clinics, clinics, maternity and other medical institutions, preventing doctors from working and creating additional burden on the medical system,” the statement released on November 7 says.

In particular, according to the report, the greatest losses were suffered by medical institutions in the Kharkov, Donetsk, Nikolaev, Kyiv, Chernihiv and Kherson regions.

In addition, as reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian troops have damaged 103 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 253 vehicles and captured 125 emergency vehicles.

“However, despite all the attacks on medical facilities and the constant bombing of the enemy, work continues in Ukraine to restore the medical infrastructure. Initially, we are talking about objects in de-occupied territories that received minor damage as a result of enemy shelling and bombing,” the department noted.

According to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, at the beginning of November, 421 medical facilities had already been fully restored, and another 413 facilities had been partially restored.

The Russian military regularly shells Ukrainian territories that are within range of their missiles, drones, artillery and MLRS – including civilian targets. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Moscow has denied a targeted attack on civilians, despite evidence and proof of this.
