On the night of January 11, power outages again occurred in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. First, the voltage dropped in the network, and then in some places the light disappeared completely, there were also problems with water supply.
DTEK reports that significant problems are also currently observed in Kyiv and the region, where the consequences of Russian attacks have been exacerbated by weather “shocks”.
DTEK has called the current energy supply situation “the most difficult this winter”. Particularly serious problems are currently observed in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as in Kyiv and the region.
“Now is the most difficult situation with electricity this winter. In Dnipro and the region, there are problems with electricity transmission after strikes on high-voltage infrastructure. In Kyiv, the Russians targeted generation at a time of severe cold, when the load on the power system is highest. In Kyiv region, the consequences of the attack were added to serious damage to networks due to bad weather,” the report says.
In Kyiv region alone, 187 crews are working around the clock. Despite the frost and cold wind, power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power to people’s homes as soon as possible.
As a result of the Russian attack, emergency power outages occurred in parts of Dnipropetrovsk region and the city of Dnipro. Because of this, stabilization schedules are not applied.
“Power engineers are working to restore power supply, primarily powering critical infrastructure facilities,” the report says.
Around noon, DTEK reported that they were able to power most subscribers in the region after the accident.
“The region is gradually moving to stabilization schedules. At the same time, repairs are underway on the left bank of the Dnieper and in the Dnipro district after the attack – there will be temporary outages until the end of the day. We are working together with the city authorities to stabilize the situation as soon as possible,” the company noted.
Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia, the regional military administration reported that as of 03:00, the Zaporizhzhia region and part of the Dnipropetrovsk region were without power.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, wrote that in Zaporizhzhia all hospitals are operating normally, they automatically switched to generators after the electricity was turned off. Invincibility points are being opened in the region.
“Due to the lack of electricity in some areas of Zaporizhzhia, there may be interruptions in water supply. All specialists are already working on the ground. Water supply is gradually being restored.
Restoration of electricity supply is ongoing. Power engineers are working in an intensified mode. Emergency crews are involved. Work is ongoing. Connection is taking place gradually,” Fedorov informed.
At 04:22 in Zaporizhzhia, the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration reported that electricity supply in the Zaporizhzhia region had been restored. First of all, power was supplied to critical infrastructure facilities.
“Restoration of electricity supply is still ongoing in the Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia. All services are working to restore power to all consumers as soon as possible,” the head of the regional military administration wrote.
