Currently, 496 children are known to have died as a result of Russian aggression, the Prosecutor General’s Office stated on July 22: “More than 1,564 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of July 22, 2023, according to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 496 children died and more than 1,068 were injured of varying degrees of severity.”
The Prosecutor General’s Office reminds that the figures are not final: their establishment in the combat zone, in the occupied and liberated territories continues
The largest number of identified affected children in the Donetsk region is 474.
The day before, two children from the same family – a 10-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl – were killed as a result of shelling in the village of Druzhba, Bakhmut District, Donetsk region. In total, as a result of strikes in the region, six people died during the day.
Despite the evidence and testimony, Moscow has denied a targeted attack on civilians since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The Russians took 100 children from the Kherson region to the Russian Federation
The Russians continue to illegally deport children from Ukraine. The Russian military took another 100 children from the temporarily occupied Kalanchak of the Kherson region to a sanatorium in Saransk, Russia.
This is reported by the Center of National Resistance: “The Russians are actively pursuing a policy of assimilating Ukrainian children in the temporarily occupied territories and destroying their self-identification. For example, the Russians sent a new batch of Ukrainian children to camps to participate in cultural and educational activities. The children were taken from Kalanchak to the Forest Fairy Tale (Lesnaya Skazka) sanatorium in Saransk (Mordovia).”
As noted in the National Resistance Center, children will be given lectures about “Special Military Operation”, their “Russian affiliation” and the teaching of pseudo-history in Putin’s version. Also, Russian “actors” will perform in front of the children and teach Russian literature.
