At least 23 people were injured as a result of shelling of Kherson by Russian troops, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reported: “The strikes were carried out in the Tavriysky microdistrict, Korabelny district and the central part of the city. As a result of shelling, a medical facility, a kindergarten, a supermarket, residential buildings, cars, and power lines were damaged. Three children are among the victims. All victims were hospitalized. Three people are in serious condition, all others have medium or light injuries. The shelter saved the lives of many people.”
In the previous notification of the prosecutor’s office, there were 12 victims.
The Russian military regularly attacks the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities, but Moscow denies that the targets of these strikes are civilians.
In Kherson, the Russians shelled residential areas.
On June 16, the Russians massively shelled residential areas of Kherson. Currently, 23 people are known to have been injured.
The Prosecutor General’s Office adds that investigators continue to take all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by the Russians. An investigation has also been launched into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
