The Russian occupation forces shelled the Kherson region 74 times in the past day. The enemy hit civilian and critical infrastructure, resulting in casualties and injuries. This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Yaroslav Yanushevich.

The enemy attacked Kherson and the region with artillery, anti-aircraft guns, mortars and tanks. The occupiers struck 36 blows only on the residential quarters of the city. Shells hit critical infrastructure facilities, kindergartens, schools, hospitals, shops, factories, private and apartment buildings.

“Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army killed 5 civilians in the Kherson region, 17 people were injured of varying degrees of severity. Among the injured is a six-year-old child. The girl was taken to the hospital with multiple shrapnel injuries. The child is in serious condition,” Yanushevich said.

On December 19, the Russian invaders again attacked the de-occupied Kherson. The enemy attacked the building of the Kherson regional military administration.

A few days ago, the Russian occupiers attacked the Kherson geriatric center, where they provide assistance to the elderly.

This is a record number of shelling of the region during the period of the full-scale invasion.

On December 23, the Russian army shelled the Kherson region 71 times with artillery, rocket launchers, mortars and tanks. Five people died, 17 were injured.

A six-year-old girl is among the wounded. She was taken to the hospital with multiple shrapnel injuries. The child is in serious condition.

According to the Regional Military Administration, 36 shellings of Kherson were recorded during the day. The Russian occupiers ransacked the residential quarters of the city. Critical infrastructure facilities, kindergartens, schools, hospitals, shops, factories, private and apartment buildings were hit.

On December 21, the Russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson region 60 times. They were fired from artillery, MLRS, mortars and tanks.

On Friday, December 23, the Russian occupiers struck Kherson with rocket and barrel artillery. At the same time, they probably used prohibited phosphorous ammunition.

The Kremlin edition of TASS with reference to the so-called occupation authorities reported that the Russians captured eight people in the Kherson region.

On December 24, at least eight people were killed and another 58 were injured as a result of the strikes carried out by Russian troops in the center of Kherson.

“The Russians struck the center of the city. They attacked the market, shopping center, residential buildings, administrative buildings – the places where the most people are,” said Yaroslav Yanushevich, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

He added that 18 people are in serious condition, doctors are fighting for their lives. “There are no military facilities even nearby. This is a targeted attack on civilians,” wrote the head of the Regional Military Administration.

According to the deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyryll Tymoshenko, the attack on the city was carried out by the Grad rocket launchers.

Violation of the customs of war and murder

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office started a pre-trial investigation into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (part two of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The prosecutor’s office clarified that the shelling of the city continues, so far eight people have been killed. “Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged, including residential buildings, administrative buildings, and motor vehicles,” the regional prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
