The Office of the Prosecutor General named the number of children who died as a result of the armed attack

As of February 1, 2023, 459 children were killed, and another 918 were injured.

This is reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“More than 1,377 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of February 1, 2023, the official number of child victims per day has not changed – 459. The number of wounded has increased – more than 918,” the message reads.

At the same time, the prosecutor’s office emphasizes that these data are not final, as work is ongoing to establish them in the places of hostilities, in temporarily captured and liberated territories.

Children were most affected in Donetsk region — 442, Kharkiv — 270, Kyiv — 123, Kherson — 85, Zaporizhzhia — 84, Mykolaiv — 83, Chernihiv — 68, Luhansk — 66, Dnipropetrovsk — 63.

In Zaporizhzhia, the occupiers announced another blackmail: they threaten to take away cars

The occupiers previously stated that from February 1, 2023, all cars in Berdyansk must have Russian license plates. But due to the fact that people were reluctant to switch to Russian license plates, the Russians put forward new conditions.

This was reported by the Berdyansk City Military Administration.

Now the Russians are demanding Berdyan residents to re-register their cars by 2024 – otherwise they will take them away.

However, it is not only about cars, because you can get Russian license plates and a technical passport only if you have a Russian passport. That is, in fact, this is yet another blackmail: renounce Ukrainian citizenship, otherwise we will take away the car. That’s the only way criminals know how,” said the head of the Berdyansk city military administration, Victoria Galitsyna.

Residents of the occupied territories are advised to take a photo of their car with license plates, as well as all the Ukrainian documents they have, and save them in a safe place (send them to your work email or in a disguised chat with your family, save them in a folder with a bunch of photos, etc.).

The Russians shelled the private sector in the Zaporizhzhia district

Another Russian projectile brought destruction to the civilian sector of the Zaporizhzhia district. In the evening of February 1, the enemy shelled the village of Yurkivka. As a result, private houses and the power grid were damaged.

In Komyshuvas, an enemy projectile hit a private house. Fortunately, there were no casualties or casualties in these attacks. This was reported by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

The invading troops made 149 strikes on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Residential buildings in district centers and villages in Orihiv and Gulyaipil communes suffered the greatest damage. In more than 40 houses, windows and roofs were broken, facades were cut, and fences were destroyed.

As a result of shelling with incendiary ammunition, houses on the outskirts of the city burned down. The territory of a post office, an educational institution, and a utility company were also affected in Orihiv.

Prices are 5 times higher and the ban on the hryvnia: how residents of Melitopol survive the occupation

The occupiers staged economic terror in the temporarily captured territories of southern Ukraine.

This was announced by the chairman of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.

He noted that this is manifested in the growth of prices for products and basic necessities by 3-5 times compared to free Ukraine, as well as in the increase of tariffs for communal services. At the same time, those who refuse to pay utility bills are threatened by the occupiers.

Businesses almost do not work, and it is not so easy to get social benefits from the enemy.

– The only support for people who did not cooperate with the enemy were payments from the state of Ukraine. But the invaders want to make the inhabitants of the Temporarily occupied territories

completely dependent on the occupying country: it was forbidden to use hryvnias for calculations, raids were conducted among people who exchanged currency, it is impossible to withdraw hryvnias through the terminals, the chairman reports.

Fedorov notes that the invaders “achieved” two things with such actions:

  • people began to protect the Ukrainian currency even more;
  • the hryvnia exchange rate almost doubled.

– People remember how the circulation of the ruble in Kherson ended – the occupying currency turned into trash. And they are very much looking forward to de-occupation. After all, Russia has only brought terror, poverty and fear to our land, the chairman added.
