The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed the death of 9,369 civilians in Ukraine and the wounding of 16,646 civilians as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation

Of them, 7,283 people were killed and 13,725 wounded in the territory controlled by Ukraine: in Donetsk and Luhansk regions – 4,184 dead and 6,062 wounded, in other regions – 3,099 dead and 7,663 wounded.

In the territory occupied by Russia, 2,086 civilians were confirmed dead and 2,921 wounded: in Donetsk and Luhansk regions – 758 dead and 2,641 wounded, in other regions – 1,328 dead and 280 wounded.

At the same time, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights emphasizes that it considers the actual number of dead and wounded as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation to be much higher, since receiving information from places of intense hostilities has been suspended, and many reports are still waiting for confirmation.

“This applies, for example, to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lysychansk, Popasnaya and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region), where there are reports of numerous victims among the civilian population,” the report says.

From July 1 to July 30, 2023, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed the death of 143 civilians (77 men, 56 women, 2 boys, 2 girls, as well as 6 adults, the gender of which has not been determined) as a result of Russia’s actions and the wounding of 605 civilians ( 239 men, 221 women, 20 boys, 15 girls, as well as 102 adults, whose gender is not established).

This included 125 dead (68 men, 47 women, 2 boys, 2 girls, as well as 6 adults whose gender was not determined) and 536 wounded (205 men, 189 women, 20 boys, 12 girls, as well as 8 children and 102 adults , whose gender is not established) in 137 settlements in the territory controlled by the government of Ukraine, and 18 dead (9 men, 9 women) and 69 wounded (34 men, 32 women and 3 girls) in 14 settlements in the territory occupied by Russia.

On July 31, the Russian Federation fired missiles at an educational institution and a high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, as a result of which 6 people were killed and 75 more were injured as of the evening.

On the same day, as of 18:00, four civilians were killed and 17 were injured in Kherson Oblast as a result of Russian shelling. At the same time, the youngest injured person is 16 years old.
