The police opened almost 113,000 cases due to crimes committed by the Russian military

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, investigators of the National Police of Ukraine have initiated 112,842 criminal proceedings on the facts of crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine by servicemen of the Russian Federation.

Most of the proceedings were opened due to violations of the laws and customs of war.

In particular, among open criminal proceedings:

98,140 – according to Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of laws and customs of war)

9,266 – according to Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine)

3,618 – according to Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Collaborative activity)

246 – according to Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Treason), etc.
