There was no such thing anywhere: the Russians left “smart” mines in the Kherson region

Residents of Kherson live in constant danger — in particular, due to mining in the region.

The enemy left many “bookmarks” of explosives in hard-to-reach places

Liberated Kherson and the right-bank part of the region continue to suffer because of the Russian occupiers. It is not only about regular attacks on residential buildings, but also about the mine danger that still exists in the region. According to the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, it was Kherson Oblast that became the most mined region, and the Russians repeatedly used so-called smart explosives (smart ammunition).

Klymenko emphasizes that some of the explosives found by pyrotechnicians have a timer. It can be calculated both for dozens of hours and for many days ahead, and it will detonate not only after the time has expired, but also in case of improper “operation”.

Many “bookmarks” of explosives are quite difficult to detect – they are full in basements, especially when it comes to administrative buildings: city or district administration, etc. Most often, the Russians mined the premises in such a way that the walls were immediately blown down during the explosion.

“You can open the door and the opposite part of the building will explode. This was the case with the National Police building in the Kherson region,” Ihor Klymenko recalls. It was dragged 30 meters, and we lost several floors of the building.”

An elderly woman died in Kherson due to Russian shelling

In Kherson, an elderly woman who was passing by the Center for Reintegration of Homeless and Freed Persons “Nadia” was killed during the shelling.

It was noted there that three shells, probably from “Grad”, flew near the building. A woman passing by received non-life-threatening injuries from the explosions.

“Our volunteers tried to help, but the injuries were not compatible with life. The dog we were feeding also died,” the center wrote.

Miraculously, no one was injured in the building itself, but the windows in the center were blown out by the blast wave.

On December 12, explosions rang out in Kherson.

On the same day, Russian troops shelled the residential sector in Kherson. The result of the attack is destruction. Power grids were also damaged.
