Russians shelled Kharkiv region and Sumy region: one woman died, one was wounded
On August 17, the Russian military shelled settlements in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
The Russians struck the Chuguyiv and Kupyan districts of the Kharkiv region. In the city of Kupyansk, a private house, outbuildings and a garage were destroyed. As a result of shelling, a 61-year-old woman died, a 60-year-old resident of Kharkiv region was injured.
Private houses were damaged in the city of Vovchansk and the village of Vovchanski Khutory.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kupyansk and Chuguyivsk district prosecutor’s offices of the Kharkiv region, pre-trial investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) have been launched. This was reported in the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, on August 18, around 11:00 a.m., the Russian military once again shelled the city of Kupyansk. Residential buildings and commercial buildings were damaged.
As a result of the shelling on August 17, private homes were destroyed in the city of Vovchansk and the village of Vovchanski Khutory.
Prosecutors and police investigators take all possible and appropriate measures to document war crimes committed by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces.
