The Russian army shelled Sumy Region 800 times in a few days

In the Sumy region bordering with Russia, over the last two days on March 12-13, the Russian military carried out 800 shellings – this was the number in 2023 for six months, reported the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh: “First of all, the use of guided aerial bombs has increased tenfold (KABs), including cluster ones… That is, 800 explosions – this was practically the norm for six months in 2023, such a number was inflicted on the territory of Sumy Region,” said Artyukh.

He also clarified that as a result of these shellings over the past two days, more than 15 people were injured, three people died, and evacuation is currently underway.

According to the head of the regional administration, work is underway to restore the infrastructure damaged tonight.

“Mobile communication is now practically restored, what was broken. We have now transferred all radio and television users who were not on the air to cable, so there are no interruptions in informing the population about air alarms, the situation in the region,” Artyukh clarified.

On the night of March 14, the Russian army carried out air and missile strikes on radio engineering facilities in the Sumy region, damaging the broadcasting infrastructure.

Earlier, the regional authorities reported that on the night of March 14, the Russian military attacked the civilian infrastructure of Sumy, Shostka, Trostyanets, and Bilopyll with unmanned aerial vehicles of the “Shahed” type.

And on the night of March 13, the Russians struck Sumy with drones. 30 apartments were damaged as a result of the “Shahed” hitting a five-story residential building. Three people died, another 14 were injured.

Russian troops are actually shelling the populated areas of Sumy Region every day with various types of weapons. Despite the evidence and testimony, Moscow has denied a targeted attack on civilians since the start of the full-scale invasion.
