As a result of a Russian FAB-500 aerial bomb hitting the Derzhprom building, the third floor of the building was partially damaged. The impact injured 9 people: five men, including a policeman on duty, and four women. One 18-year-old girl, who was walking near the scene of the shooting, is currently in the hospital in moderate condition. Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed about the incident.
“This is not the first damage to Derzhprom. Some of the windows of Derzhprom were already broken during the Russian attack on the regional administration building on Svobody Square on March 1, 2022. Glazing at Derzhprom was once again damaged on January 2, 2024, when a Russian missile hit the road nearby. Then the impact of the rocket hit the windows in almost the entire north-western part of the building. Derzhprom is included in the preliminary list of the UNESCO World Heritage as a monument of architecture in the constructivist style. We are currently negotiating with international donors to receive funds for the restoration of the building,” said Oleg Sinegubov.
Debris and the blast wave also damaged the rehabilitation department of the regional hospital, two residential buildings, the building of the Commercial Court of Appeal, two educational institutions, bank premises, catering establishments, and 7 cars.
