The Russian Federation concentrated Shahed strikes on Odesa: over 130 drones in five days

For the fifth day in a row, the Russian Federation has been striking Odesa region with Shahed drones in an attempt to destroy the port and agricultural infrastructure.

According to reports from the Air Force Command, the enemy fired a total of 135 Shahed-131/136 over the past five days, the absolute majority of which were directed at facilities in Odesa region.

In particular, the beginning of this operation can be clearly traced – the night of September 3. Then the enemy launched 25 drones, the next night – 32 units (partly for strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region).

After the break, on September 6, although a combined attack was carried out using a cruise missile and one ballistic missile, another 25 Shaheds were again directed at the Odesa region. On September 7, another 33 drones were launched, and today, on the night of September 8, 20 aircraft-projectile launches were recorded.

If, on the basis of the same reports, the statistics of the effectiveness of the air defense system are compiled, the picture looks as follows:

03.09: 22 out of 25 were shot down – 88% (partly the strike was also in Dnipropetrovsk region).

04.09: 23 out of 32 – 71%

06.09: 15 – 60% off 25

07.09: 25 of 33 – 75%

08.09: 16 out of 20 – 80%

At the same time, the hit rate does not mean that the aircraft-missile reached its target, some of them, which were not shot down, miss, some sometimes fall on the territory of Romania. But in the end, the statistics are quite indicative and demonstrate that approximately 75% of UAVs are shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces. And that is why the Russians continue to concentrate attacks on one group of objects in one region for almost a week.

Thus, it is quite possible that precisely such concentrated strikes on one group of objects in one region are what Ukraine needs to prepare for, in contrast to the dispersed strikes that the enemy practiced during autumn-winter remote attacks.

In fact, every day the port and port infrastructure of Odesa region is attacked by Russia with Iranian kamikaze drones

Every day, the port and port infrastructure of the Odesa region is attacked by the Russian army with Iranian-made kamikaze drones. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are launched from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory. Serhii Bratchuk, the spokesman of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “South” told about this today, September 8.

“In fact, every day the port and port infrastructure is attacked en masse by the enemy, attacked with kamikaze drones. At this time, the tactical aviation of the enemy is active over the Black Sea. The tactics are already clear — they are massive and strike in several waves. Even at the same time, the Russian Federation attacks.

Drones are launched from Cape Chauda – this is the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Primorsko-Akhtarsk – this is the Krasnodar Territory. The drones fly specifically to the Izmail district, which is the southern district of the Odesa region. The port infrastructure, the Danube cluster are located there. And today it is the main way to export Ukrainian grain,” he said. The spokesperson of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “South” noted that the delivery of Iranian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type (“Shahed”) is regularly carried out from Iran to Russia.

“The Russians continues to receive Iranian kamikaze drones. This is evidenced by the flights of military transport aircraft that arrive, in particular, to Moscow, and from there they are transferred to the Krasnodar Territory. There are flights operating on the route Tehran (Iran) — Simferopol (temporarily occupied Crimea),” he said. In the Odesa region on September 8, the air defense forces of Ukraine shot down 14 drones in the airspace, but it was not possible to avoid being hit.

“14 drones were shot down last night. Unfortunately, there is a hit in a non-residential premises. No victims. Dry grass caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire very quickly. The most important thing is that no one was hurt,” Bratchuk said.
