In Donbas, the occupiers have taken on people with disabilities: they force them to work for the army for free

The Russians continue to create chaos in the occupied territories. Yes, in Donbas, they took care of people with disabilities.

Now Russian terrorists are forcing people with disabilities to work for free for the needs of the “second army of the world”. This was announced by human rights defender, founder of the “Eastern Human Rights Group” Pavlo Lysyanskyi.

According to Lysyanskyi, since last year, people with disabilities have been forced to work for the invading forces in the temporarily occupied Luhansk and Donetsk regions. At the same time, all specialized social agencies that currently exist in Donbas are involved.

The human rights defender noted that such criminal actions began in November 2022 and everything is being done under coercion.

According to the data found by the Eastern Human Rights Group, the Russians organized specially created industrial zones in social institutions. There, people with disabilities are forcibly involved in the production of camouflage nets, trench candles, knitting socks, warm rugs and blankets, etc. The manufactured products go to the front of the Russian army.

This happens so massively that all possible institutions that take care of people with disabilities are involved. The Russians do not look at the state of health of these people. They are just cynically used, – emphasized Lysyansky.

Thus, the following criminal acts were recorded in the occupied territory:

Luhansk geriatric boarding house No. 1,

in Yenakievo, on the basis of the public organization of women with disabilities “Gratsia”,

Donetsk boarding house for senior citizens and people with disabilities with a geriatric department, • Makiiv special boarding house No. 1, • Anthracite boarding house for senior citizens and people with disabilities,

Rovenkiv boarding house for people with special needs.

In this way, the patients of the institutions make their contribution to help the enemy troops, and also justify and minimally compensate the expenses for staying in these institutions.

It became known that volunteer activity on the part of Russia has sharply decreased, and in the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, sewing enterprises have stopped their work and have not resumed it for the time being. Therefore, for Russians, Ukrainian people with disabilities are free labor force.

Russians abduct children with disabilities in the Kherson region

Earlier it was reported that Russia continues to abduct children in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In particular, children with disabilities are forcibly removed. We are talking about children who live in the Oleshkiv children’s boarding house in the Kherson region.

It is known that the Russians have already forcibly transported 12 children aged 8 to 18 to Crimea. They are currently in the Clinical Psychiatric Hospital No. 5. The medical facility is located in the village of Strogonivka, Simferopol district.

In Ukraine, the number of children affected by Russia’s aggression has increased

In Ukraine, as of May 12, the number of children injured by shelling during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine increased to 968, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported. The number of dead children remained unchanged – 480.

“On May 11, a 16-year-old girl was injured as a result of the shelling of the Veliky Burluk urban settlement of the Kharkiv region,” the prosecutor’s office specified.

The Prosecutor General’s Office stressed that the given data are not final, work is ongoing to establish them in the places of hostilities, in the occupied and liberated territories.

As of May 8, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has confirmed the death of 8,791 and the wounding of 14,815 civilians in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale invasion of Russia. The UN has stressed that the real death toll is much higher because there are delays in receiving information from some places where intense fighting is ongoing, and many reports still need to be confirmed.
