To export grain grown in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the Russian Federation uses the railway, which it also captured in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
By rail, the grain reaches the annexed Crimea, and the intermediary for logistics services is the Russian company “Florence”, which is associated with the former People’s Deputy of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk.
According to journalists, Ukrainian grain reaches Turkey from Crimea.
“If the Kerch Bridge could be used before, now, due to certain circumstances, it is more profitable for Russia from time to time to use the railway, which they also seized in the occupied territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. And in the process of communication, there is also the question of how “Florence” should somehow think about how to ensure the transportation and delivery of products to the occupied peninsula,” said the author of the investigation, Maksym Savchuk. In April of this year, the Russian authorities announced that the first container train had passed through the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the left bank of the Kherson region. It delivered products of Russian manufacturers to occupied Sevastopol for illegal export.
