On the night of January 9, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones in the Kyiv region. Air defense forces were actively operating in the region.
As reported by the head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, the consequences of the Russian attack were recorded in at least four districts of the region. Civilian objects and private buildings were hit.
In particular, a private residential building was damaged in the Vyshgorodskyi district. Warehouses and another private house were destroyed in the Obukhivskyi district.
The Brovarskyi district was the worst affected: fires broke out in three private houses, a production and warehouse building, and garages. All fires were quickly extinguished. Rescuers rescued three adults and a five-year-old child from the basement of one of the houses. All of them were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning to a local hospital.
Two private houses were damaged in the attack in the Boryspilskyi district. Another man was also reported to have received a cut wound to his forearm — he was provided with the necessary medical care on the spot.
According to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, fortunately, there were no fatalities. He thanked the rescuers, police, and medics for their prompt and professional work, and also called on residents of the region not to ignore air raid sirens and to stay in shelters until the threat has completely disappeared.
