Only from the city of Melitopol temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, which is approximately 30-40% of the entire temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, more than 500 people are stolen in prisons, basements, and illegally detained. And in general, in a year and a half, it was more than a thousand people. This was announced on October 2 by the chairman of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.
According to him, thousands of Ukrainians are illegally detained by the enemy on the territory of the Russian Federation and in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation. International reaction is not enough today.
“Our residents, who are under occupation, live in constant fear that they can be kidnapped every second, captured every second without any reason. During the detention of people, the Russian Federation makes a production and fakes, they shoot propaganda videos in order to mass tell and disperse information and explain in some way to their flock living in the Russian Federation, one or another illegal actions that are being carried out,” said the chairman.
According to Fedorov, the danger for residents remains. The Russians continue to torture civilians.
“Two weeks ago, we reported that for some reason, it is not yet known, mass theft of people and our residents continues in populated areas. In Mykhailivka, a settlement located 30 km from the city of Melitopol, dozens of our residents were taken prisoner in literally two weeks.
In addition, they started with men, continued with both men and women, absolutely incomprehensible criteria. Interestingly, a number of these residents had the opportunity to buy money from their relatives. Accordingly, the enemy stole our people, but offered to return them as a ransom. And another category of people was left in captivity, but the reason has not yet been clarified,” said the chairman of Melitopol.
In his opinion, Ukrainians can be saved by trying to exchange them. Another way to solve the issue is the victory of Ukraine.
Earlier, Fedorov reported that in the occupied Melitopol, the Russian invaders are trying to cover themselves with local residents as a human shield. They don’t just move into apartments, they move in with people.
