Ukrainian law enforcement officers have data on the execution of 102 Ukrainian prisoners of war on the battlefield by the Russian military.
This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
On October 13, it became known that near the village of Zeleny Shlyah in the Kursk region, the Russians executed another nine Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered as prisoners. According to analysts, the murder took place on October 10. The details of the incident are still being clarified, but it is already known that the dead went to the positions, believing that they were located in the rear. The Ukrainians encountered the enemy and entered into battle with him. Due to the limited amount of ammunition, the military was forced to surrender.
Due to the fact of another execution, the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets sent letters to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross, noting that such actions violate the Geneva Convention.
The Prosecutor General’s Office says that currently there are 102 Ukrainian prisoners of war who were executed by the Russians.
