Fragments of several bodies were found in Novogrodivka, Pokrovsky District, Donetsk region, at the site of a Russian rocket hitting an apartment building on December 5. “As of now, fragments of bodies, which cannot be identified, have been found under the rubble. A DNA examination will be carried out in the future,” said Oleksandr Shevchenko, head of the Novogrodiv city military administration. The search and rescue operation is ongoing.
On the night of November 30, Russian troops hit the Pokrovka district of Donetsk region simultaneously with six S-300 missiles. In addition to Novogrodivka, Pokrovsk and Myrnograd came under fire. As a result of the attacks, 10 people were injured, including four children.
After the shelling of a residential building in Novogrodivka, the bodies of two dead people were recovered from the rubble. Later, the girl’s body was found there. The city authorities assumed that the bodies of her parents were still under the rubble, since they had not been discovered at that time.
According to the latest UN data, 10,000 civilians have been confirmed dead since the start of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine. The real number of victims of the Russian invasion may be much higher, the UN suggests.
