The Russians are building a new railway through the Zaporizhzhia region

Currently, the Russians are actively building a railway network that will connect the Azov region with Donbass. Yes, the Russians will be able to improve military logistics and quickly transfer equipment to the Zaporizhzhia area and Donbas. The construction is going at a fast pace and the Russians will be able to finish it already in 2024.

Earlier, the Russians began the construction of a railway bridge to connect Berdyansk in the Zaporizhzhia region with Rostov in Russia. And in November 2023, the Russian propaganda agency, with reference to the so-called governor of the occupied Zaporizhia region Yevgeny Balytskyi, said that Russia had begun building a railway connecting Rostov with Crimea through the Zaporizhzhia region.

Therefore, the Russians plan to connect Berdyansk with Mariupol in the area of the Troyani station, which is two dozen kilometers northwest of the city. Further, the new tracks will run to Yakymivka. The works are scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

“This railway will run from Yakymivka to Rostov through Berdyansk and Mariupol. This construction has already started. Yakymivka is lower from Melitopol to the southwest. This is the node from which the construction will proceed. In this way, we will protect railway transport from the enemy’s shelling”, – declares the protégé of the Russian Federation, Gauleiter Yevgeny Balytskyi.

The new branch will bypass the risky section of the front near Maryinka and Vugledar, thus helping to ensure the transportation of resources from the rear areas of the Donetsk region to Mariupol and further to the entire Zaporizhzhia front. At the end of 2023, the most active construction was recorded in this area. Satellite images show significant progress and work could theoretically be completed in 2024, according to investigators. But the railway between Mariupol and Taganrog, the construction of which was advertised in Russia, is still at an initial stage.
