The Russians are strengthening military logistics through the port of Mariupol

Deputy of the Mariupol City Council Dmytro Zabavin reported that Russia is trying to increase the capacity of the port in the city in order to strengthen military logistics to the temporarily occupied territories.

“The Russians are not using the port of Mariupol for the capacity they expect. They declare what they bring to the port as construction materials and humanitarian aid. However, we all understand very well that part of what they bring to the port of Mariupol is military equipment and weapons,” Zabavin said.

The deputy also added that the Russians use part of the building materials brought to Mariupol for the construction of defense structures.

“The Russians are trying in every possible way to hide the fact that they are delivering weapons to the port of Mariupol. Accordingly, they want to increase the capacity of the port in order to import even more weapons for the war. Also, if we talk about the construction materials that they transport to the port, then part of these materials is really used for the construction of new houses. However, the other part is used for the construction of defense structures in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” he added.
