On the evening of November 5, Russian troops attacked Odessa, as a result of which 5 people were injured. It is also known about the damage to the National Art Museum.
“Five people were injured as a result of a night attack by Russian occupiers in Odesa. The victims had shrapnel injuries. All are treated, our doctors are providing all the necessary assistance,” wrote the head of the regional military administration Oleg Kiper.
“The walls of the building are damaged, some windows and panes are broken. Work is being carried out to examine and fix the damage to another object in the UNESCO world heritage zone,” he said.
At the same time, the deputy director of the Odesa National Art Museum Oleksandra Kovalchuk reported that the National Art Museum was damaged as a result of the attack.
“The 124th anniversary of the museum will be completed in a few hours (November 6). There were different greetings in our life. They didn’t count on this, even though they were preparing,” the post reads.
In turn, the chairman of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, confirmed this information.
“A little there, a little here, and we could get rid of many of our samples, exhibits, which are very famous throughout the world. Fortunately, this did not happen,” he said in a comment. According to him, in the morning the local authorities will start working to help people whose houses were damaged as a result of the Russian attack. “In the morning, our district administration will work to prepare documents to help all those affected here. The roof of the residential building was damaged, we will conduct an inspection and restore it, because we are going in winter. Now the situation is not easy, because the water supply is damaged, and the pressure is quite high.
The situation is under control, but we will need such a thorough study to be sure that everything is fine,” the chairman assured.
