On May 4, Russian troops repeatedly shelled the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. Two civilians were injured as a result of the strikes. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, at about 4:00 a.m. a private house was damaged as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike. At about 6:00 a.m. another shelling destroyed the household – fortunately, there were no casualties. The type of weapons used by the Russian military is currently being established.
At about 3:50 p.m. Kupyansk was again subjected to artillery shelling. As a result of the hit, a fire broke out in a private house. Two civilians were injured: a 52-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction, an 89-year-old woman was injured by glass fragments and was hospitalized.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kupyansk District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the facts of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Prosecutors, together with the police, are documenting another war crime committed by the Russian military.
