The Russians continue to systematically shell the border communities in the Sumy Region – there are dead and wounded

Under the procedural guidance of the Okhtyrskуі district prosecutor’s office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on March 13, 2024, around 2:00 p.m., using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the Russians launched a mortar shelling of the civilian infrastructure of the Velikopysarovskуі community of the Okhtyrskуі district.

As a result of the attack by the occupiers, a 54-year-old civilian man was killed, and two women were injured.

Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement officers, record the consequences of the shelling. In the future, the materials of the criminal proceedings will be transferred to the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Sumy region.
