On March 12, about 20 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire from the Russians. Six settlements were hit by air strikes.

The long-suffering Vovchansk was shelled by the Russians several times. Residents’ houses and the building of the local veterinary hospital were again damaged in the city.
Two hangars were destroyed by Russian S-300 missiles in the village of Novy Korotych. In the city of Balaklia, a civil enterprise was damaged. A fire broke out in the village of Podola, Kupyan district, as a result of Russian shelling.
As reported by the Main Department of the National Police of the Kharkiv region, the village of Odnorobivka of the Zolochiv community was shelled by the Russians for several hours in a row with artillery, mortars and helicopters. In the village, a significant number of houses were damaged, the railway station, several of the houses were completely destroyed. A civilian man was wounded.
“Vovchansk. On March 12, at 01:30 and at 08:40, the enemy struck the city. As a result of shelling, one of the buildings of the vetlikarny was completely destroyed, the other buildings were damaged. Private homes were damaged,” the National Police reported.
During the day, investigators, criminalists, and police explosives experts went to the sites of the hits, documented the consequences of Russian war crimes: collected physical evidence, interviewed witnesses and victims, opened criminal proceedings related to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four Russian attacks in the area of Synkivka and Tabaivka in the Kupyansk direction.
As reported in the Main Department of the Regional State Emergency Service, on March 12, Russian shelling caused two fires in Kharkiv Region. However, due to the negligence and criminal actions of local residents, who stubbornly continue to burn stubble, emergency workers had to extinguish 50 fires in natural ecosystems.
“For a day, about 44 hectares of dry grass, branches, garbage and reeds burned in open areas. Also, 1 private household building was destroyed by fire. The reason for the occurrence of such fires remains the same – neglect of fire safety rules and deliberate burning of dry land,” the State Emergency Service said in a statement.
On March 12, in Kharkiv Region, teams of explosives technicians demined 34.93 hectares of territory and destroyed 267 explosive objects.
As of March 13, 73 children have already been removed from the most dangerous communities of the Kupyan district: 28 from the Vilkhuvat community and 45 from Velikoburlutska.
