
In the village of Myropylya, Sumy District, the St. Nicholas Bishop’s Monastery Courtyard, one of the Orthodox spiritual centers of the Sumy Region, was devastated by Russian bombing.
This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) of the press service of the diocese.
According to preliminary estimates, as a result of a direct hit by guided aerial bombs or missiles, the central part of the majestic St. Nicholas Cathedral was completely destroyed – the dome, central tower were destroyed, the ceiling, roof and ceiling collapsed.
The temple has lost its architectural integrity, the walls are deformed and crumbling, the interior decoration is destroyed.
The domestic temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God, which was located in the monastic building, was also destroyed. The destruction affected the outbuildings, auxiliary buildings, and the surrounding area.
