On November 12, Russian troops once again shelled Kherson. As a result of the shelling, the regional library named after O. Honchar suffered serious damage.
After the flights, a fire broke out there, rescuers fought the flames for more than an hour and a half. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, showed details and photos of the mutilated library.
“Kherson is again under fire from the Russian Federation. One of the hits hit the regional library named after Honchar. The building was significantly destroyed. There was also a fire. Rescuers spent more than an hour and a half taming the flames. Fortunately, there were no victims,” the official wrote at 09:13, November 12.
He also showed in a photo the consequences of another attack on the library. Not a single surviving window remained in the building, serious damage from both shelling and fire can be seen inside the library.
In addition, the books stored in the library were also damaged in the process of extinguishing the fire.
