The Russians hit the Ukrenergo substation in Zaporizhzhia with “Shaheds”, damaged the network in 3 regions: the situation in the energy system on March 9

The energy industry of Ukraine withstands the next tests of shelling by the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Energy reports on the restoration of electricity supply after attacks on energy facilities.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reports on the stable situation in the country’s energy system as of March 9. Despite the shelling of the energy infrastructure by the Russians, there is currently no shortage of electricity. Commercial import and export of electricity is also planned.

According to the press center of the Ministry of Energy, the Ukrenergo substation in the Zaporizhzhia region was targeted by a UAV attack, but no significant damage or casualties were recorded. Therefore, the power supply was not interrupted.

“At night, the Russians launched a UAV attack on the 330 kV substation of the Ukrenergo NEC in the Zaporizhzhia region. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The equipment was not damaged. No outages,” the report said.

Similar incidents were recorded in the Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where it was also possible to avoid disconnection of consumers. It is reported that the 330 kV overhead line in the Dnipropetrovsk region was disconnected during operational switching, which was restored within half an hour. At the same time, the 330 kV line that fed the ZNPP remains de-energized (this increases the threat level at the ZNPP to the level of Chernobyl or Fukushima).

Despite the shutdown of equipment at the Odesa CHPP due to technological malfunctions, which caused a short-term blackout in Odesa, the situation was quickly resolved. As of now, the power supply has been restored.

The Ministry of Energy assures that there is currently no shortage of electricity, and there is a sufficient amount of generating equipment in reserve to ensure stable operation of the power system (17 units of TPP generating equipment are in reserve). In addition, the import and export of electricity are planned, which will ensure reliable energy supply for Ukrainians and maintain economic ties with neighboring countries.
