Colonel Bohdan Okhrimenko, head of the Secretariat of the Working Group of the Coordination Headquarters, told about it.
According to him, the Russians manipulate their relatives, declare readiness to exchange hostages, publish what appear to be lists, but in reality do not intend to let go of a valuable resource, keep prisoners in inhumane conditions, torture and humiliate them. In turn, Ukraine returns its citizens from captivity because it wants to save their lives.
“For the Kremlin, Russian citizens are just an inconvenience. They are in no hurry to exchange them, because Ukrainians in captivity and their families are much more important to them,” Bohdan Okhrimenko added.
Because of this, relatives and relatives of Ukrainian prisoners are in a very vulnerable position.
“Someone is beginning to believe the promises of the Russians, some have no strength to wait anymore, some have lost hope. People are gathering for actions where they blame the Ukrainian authorities. This is exactly what the Russians want. Having met fierce resistance at the front, the Russians hope to shake society from within. So that all our sacrifices become useless,” said the spokesman.
He noted that the more successful this tactic is, in the opinion of the Russians, the less real chance there is to return from captivity those whom the Russians cling to so tightly.
