During the 10 days of September, the UN recorded the deaths of 55 civilians.
According to the latest UN report, more than 9,600 civilians have already died in Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, and more than 17,500 people have been injured. The figures include reported civilian deaths and injuries, so the numbers are actually much higher.
The UN data document states:
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights believes that the actual number of civilian deaths or injuries is significantly higher, as many reports from locations where such incidents have occurred in the past still require further confirmation, while information from some locations, where hostilities continue, is delayed
In such settlements as Mariupol, Lysychansk, Popasna and Severodonetsk, according to reports, numerous cases of the death or injury of civilians were recorded.
According to confirmed UN data, 4,461 men, 2,672 women, 289 boys and 236 girls died, while the gender of 29 children and 1,927 adults has not yet been determined.
Among the 17,535 wounded, 516 were boys and 378 were girls, as well as 286 children, the sex of which has not yet been determined.
Earlier, the UN stated that 90% of Ukrainian prisoners of war were tortured during their stay in Russian captivity. The scale of torture has reached such a level that it can be called a systemic policy approved by the state.
