Since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022 in the Kharkiv region, the Russian military has killed 2,146 civilians, 77 of the dead are children, regional prosecutor Oleksandr Filchakov said at a session of the regional council.
3,086 people were injured (247 of them minors). These facts are under investigation. Law enforcement officers are also investigating the abduction or disappearance of 1,007 civilians.
Almost every day in the Kharkiv region, people continue to die from shelling or get injured. On October 5, a mass murder was committed in the village of Groza in the Shevchenkove settlement. A Russian Iskander missile hit a cafe where a fallen soldier was being commemorated. So far, 49 bodies have been identified. Law enforcement officials said the death toll was 51, but that number could rise as five people are still missing.
On October 6, the Russians attacked Kharkiv with Iskander missiles, a residential building came under fire. Two people died (one of them is a child), 30 people were injured.
According to the prosecutor’s office, 29,500 buildings have been destroyed in the Kharkiv region since the beginning of the invasion. Including:
almost 9.5 thousand private residential buildings;
4,000 high-rise buildings;
5,000 objects of life support;
817 educational institutions;
383 cultural institutions;
285 healthcare institutions.
