Russian troops launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih on Tuesday morning, August 22. Previously, one person was injured, there is damage.
This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, and the head of the city’s Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul.
The victim of the blow suffered cuts on his face – he received medical assistance and will be treated at home.
More than 20 private houses and a power line were damaged. According to Vilkul, several streets and lines of electric transport in Kryvyi Rih were partially de-energized.
Several hospitals switched to generators, electricity supply has already been restored. The water system is also powered by generators and is currently being restarted.
The Russians also attacked the Sinelnykiv district of the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone at night, targeting a private enterprise. A fire started there, which has already been extinguished. There are no casualties.
Another blow to the district was in the morning. The occupiers damaged power lines and other civilian infrastructure, Lysak said.
On the night and morning of August 22, an air alert was announced in several regions of Ukraine. In addition to Kryvyi Rih, Russia attacked Zaporіzhzhіа. As a result of the impact, four high-rise buildings were damaged there, there were no casualties.
In Kryvyi Rih, a Russian ballistic missile hit the private sector of the city, as a result of which more than 30 buildings were damaged. Oleksandr Vilkul, the chairman of the Kryvyi Rih City Defense Council, said: “A ballistic missile damaged the private sector of the city of Kryvyi Rih. As a result, about 30 private houses were damaged and destroyed. The line of electric generators was also damaged, some hospitals switched to generators, people did not feel it, but there was a power outage.”
Vilkul added that two headquarters are currently deployed in the city, where people are provided with all non-food assistance. According to him, residents whose houses were destroyed need to be resettled.
The head of the city’s Defense Council reminded that the Russian Federation attacked the city three times in a week with ballistic missiles that are difficult to see and shoot down.
In addition, it was noted that the city is preparing for the heating season, but currently the priority is to restore the water supply.
“For us, water is a big problem due to the destruction of Kakhovska Platina. The city’s forces built three water reservoirs, Kryvyi Rih is also ready for an alternative start-up of the source, generators have been purchased for most institutions,” the head of the city’s Defense Council emphasized.
