In the night, the regional military administration noted that the air defense forces are actively countering the strikes and conducting aerial combat. This was reported by the military administration of the Sumy region, as well as acting chairman Artem Kobzar. “Tonight, the Russians, using the Shahed UAV, launched a massive airstrike on the city of Sumy,” the message reads.

After the massive overnight attack on Sumy, the drainage system in the city is functioning, but the water is supplied with reduced pressure, said Acting chairman of Sumy Artem Kobzar. Due to the lack of electricity in the city, trolleybuses do not run on the routes.

As a result of an airstrike by the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure of the Sumy Region, consumers in the city of Sumy, the power grid of the Sumy, Konotop, and Okhtyr districts were cut off. And also – Bilopolska, Burynska, Lebedynska, Putivlska, Trostyanetska, Krasnopilska, V. Pysarivska precincts. As of 7 a.m. on September 17, 281,072 electricity consumers in the Sumy region were temporarily without electricity, reported the Sumy oblenergo.
