The press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reported that “the first stage of measures to close the so-called “Azov Ring”, which includes the power systems of the Crimea, Rostov, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia regions, the DРR and LРR, as well as the energy system of the Krasnodar Territory, has been completed.” No one is confused that everything in Crimea, Donbas, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions belongs to Ukraine.
According to sources from the occupied Mariupol, this will allow the Russians to redistribute electricity and partially reserve it through a single system-forming electrical network.
This system is being created for the energy supply of the so-called land corridor to Crimea. In the future, the Russians plan to include the supply of electricity from the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which has been inactive since 2022. That is why the Russians are talking about the first stage. No one knows if there will be a second one. Everything depends on the offensive of the Armed Forces in the south, which the population of the occupied territories is hoping for.
One thing is clear, that the Russian Federation continues the looting that began in 2014, disregarding all international laws and agreements. Is the world community able to stop Russian aggression in Ukraine, or will it rely on the right of the strong, plunging the world into a maelstrom of new territorial claims by the owners of nuclear weapons? There is less and less time left for this.
