The Russians on the left bank of the Kherson region set up positions near residential buildings

Russians are setting up positions in the yards of residential buildings in the occupied part of the Kherson region.

On the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, the Russians set up their positions in the yards of private residential buildings.

The Russians place their armored vehicles and observation stations there. Nataliya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, said about this on the air of the national telethon: “Given the width of the Dnieper itself, we need to adjust the targets on the left bank due to the fact that in the yards of private houses, the Russians place their positions, armored vehicles, and deploy observation stations.”

Humenyuk also spoke about the results of the combat work of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in this direction. In particular, the destruction of four large-caliber guns is, according to the spokeswoman, a very significant blow to the Russians.

In addition, Humenyuk emphasized that the destruction of the occupiers themselves at the mark 45, despite the fact that they conducted only two assaults, is also a very good result. In fact, 70% of assault groups do not return to their positions after such combat work.

The spokeswoman also added that the location of equipment, warehouses with ammunition, dugouts and other fortifications, behind which the Russians are hiding, in the settlements of the left bank complicates the work. However, the Defense Forces continue to conduct it. At the same time, they rely on the resistance movement and local partisans.

In the Kherson region, the Defense Forces continue to hold positions and repulse assaults by occupation forces, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the morning of February 18.

Despite significant losses, the Russians do not stop trying to knock Ukrainian units out of their positions.
