As a result of another Russian strike on civilian infrastructure in the city of Shostka (Sumy region), the Svema sports complex was damaged, the Ukrainian Futsal Association reports.
The youth teams of the Barsa Youth Sports School trained in this hall, and children’s and youth competitions were also regularly held.
“Russian troops continue to cynically target civilian infrastructure, including sports facilities,” the statement said.
The sports complex was an important hub for the development of futsal in northern Ukraine — and another strike on such facilities demonstrates how civilian infrastructure remains a target during wartime.
