The Russians shelled the Kherson river port

Russian troops shelled the territory of the Kherson region 71 times in the past day. In particular, they targeted the river port.

The occupiers hit the territory of the Kherson region with artillery, anti-aircraft guns, mortars and tanks. Yaroslav Yanushevich, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, told Telegram about this.

He said that the Russians shelled the residential quarters of Kherson. They kissed the river port, private and apartment buildings.

“Unfortunately, we have victims among the civilian population. Yesterday, the Russians killed 1 person, 6 people were injured of varying degrees of severity,” Yanushevich added.

After the liberation of Kherson and part of the region on the right bank of the Dnieper by the Ukrainian military, the Rashists began shelling the territory dozens of times. In particular, the enemy hit the Kherson shipyard and the floating crane “Zachariy”.

Today, the Russians could use phosphorous ammunition for strikes on Kherson

On December 20, the Russian occupiers could attack Kherson with the help of phosphorous ammunition.

This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevskyi.

“According to so far unconfirmed data, the Orks used phosphorous ammunition in Kherson today. It looks very similar, we will wait for the results of the examination,” he wrote.

It should be noted that the use of phosphorous ammunition, which is one of the types of incendiary ammunition, is prohibited by the Geneva Convention for the Protection of War Victims.

During the last day, on December 20, the Russian occupiers shelled the liberated Kherson region more than 70 times, resulting in the deaths and injuries of civilians.

“The Russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson region 71 times. They fired artillery, anti-aircraft guns, mortars and tanks.

The enemy once again shelled the residential quarters of Kherson. They hit the port, private and multi-apartment buildings,” the report says.

As a result of shelling, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population.

“Unfortunately, we have victims among the civilian population. Last day, the Russians killed 1 person, 6 people were injured of varying degrees of severity,” Yanushevich added.

She was the mother of 2 children: a Red Cross volunteer who died because of Russia was buried in Kherson

The Russians took the life of another person who helped those who needed it so much. And they also left two children without a mother: Elena and Sashka, and a mother without a daughter.

It happened in Kherson as a result of Russian shelling. When a woman was distributing humanitarian aid to residents in the city center, a fragment of the “Hail” hit her in the head, so she died on the spot. The volunteer was buried on December 19.

The volunteer actively helped her compatriots

Mykola Taranenko, the commander of the rapid response unit of the Red Cross of the Kherson region, who knew Victoria Yaryshko for 16 years, said that she had been helping people and cooperating with the organization for many years. So when Russia unleashed a full-scale war and occupied Kherson, it could not stand aside.

She worked with children, children with special needs, “sunny children”. She was a jack of all trades. She worked for a long time in the Green Farms of Tavria.

She was engaged in art therapy with her children. They drew and painted. Vika was an energizer. She was around, Mykola Taranenko said.

However, the volunteer took care not only of children. She also:

  • cooked in the field kitchen,
  • distributed humanitarian aid.

They were buried in a small procession. Red Cross volunteer Victoria Yaryshko was 39 years old at the time of her death. However, because of the invaders, not everyone who wanted to say goodbye to the woman was able to do so. First of all, because of security.

Polish journalist Tomasz Gzywaczewski said that only the closest relatives and friends from the Red Cross came to say goodbye to the deceased, because there were fears that a larger procession would attract the attention of the Russians and be fired upon.

Russia regularly bombards Kherson

  • On December 19, the invaders shelled Kherson Oblast 42 times. Artillery, MLRS, mortars, and tanks fired, and a rocket attack was also carried out in the region. Unfortunately, this resulted in casualties: two people died. Also, 3 people were injured of varying degrees of severity.
  • They also damaged the building of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that residential buildings, administrative buildings, motor vehicles and critical infrastructure were also damaged. According to preliminary data, the enemy attacked the territories with salvo fire systems and S-300 type missiles
  • On December 17, the occupiers also hit the headquarters of humanitarian aid. What’s more, the Kherson City Council emphasizes that the occupiers deliberately targeted an institution that provides assistance to the elderly. Unfortunately, as a result of the attack, 1 woman died from her injuries, and 2 more people are in the hospital.
