Russian occupiers shelled the Kupyan district on Thursday, February 23. As a result of the attack, one person was injured, two more are under the rubble.

“The administrative building was hit. A civilian man who was near the building was injured. At least two people are currently under the rubble,” Sinegubov wrote.

In addition, in the past day, snipers shelled about 18 settlements in the Kupyan, Chuguyiv, Kharkiv and Izyum districts of the region. Thus, in Vovchansk, as a result of massive shelling, six residential buildings and two educational institutions were damaged. And in the village of Nesterne of the Vovchansk community, a farm building was damaged.
“A 40-year-old civilian man was wounded by shelling in the village of Podola, Kupyan district. He was hospitalized in a moderate condition,” Sinegubov added.
As a result of the shelling of the village of Cherneshchena, Izyum district, a private residential building was destroyed, electric poles were damaged.

As of February 20, 9,655 people, including 461 children, died in Ukraine due to the war.
In the Kharkiv region, 1,782 deaths were registered as a result of Russia’s armed aggression, 2,607 people were injured. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Only in Kyiv and Donetsk regions are more dead — 2,290 and 2,167, respectively. 734 people were injured in Kyiv region, 3,263 in Donetsk region.
As Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said, since February 24, 2022, more than 68,000 war crimes have been registered in Ukraine and 952 facts of the use of prohibited means of warfare, including cluster munitions, mines, chemical and incendiary munitions, have been documented. This resulted in the death of 9,655 people.
“When we talk about these numbers, we must realize that the real number is much higher. After all, we still do not have access to the occupied territories,” said Kostin.
Among all the crimes committed by the occupiers, more than 2,600 involve children. These include death, injury, armed attacks on institutions and institutions for children, forced deportation or abduction. It is known that the Russians forcibly removed 16,000 Ukrainian children.
A large number of war crimes were recorded in the de-occupied territories. According to the information of the Prosecutor General’s Office, after the release, the bodies of 936 people, 739 of them civilians, were found in the territory of the Kharkiv region. In particular, the bodies of 451 people, of which 429 were civilians, were found at the mass burial site.
In addition, 21 torture chambers were found in the de-occupied territory of Kharkiv region, and the abduction or disappearance of more than 1,007 civilians was recorded.
In total, more than 12,000 war crimes were registered in the Kharkiv region. Suspicion was announced to 20 people, indictments were sent to courts against eight people. Seven defendants have already received sentences.
