The Russians shot Ukrainian prisoners again

The Russians once again shot Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered as prisoners.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reports: “Another war crime probably happened on February 24, 2024 in the Bakhmut district. The video shows Ukrainian soldiers surrendering: their hands were raised to the top, they showed that they were unarmed and did not pose a threat. The Russians were supposed to take them prisoner, but instead they mercilessly shot them.”

Lubinets said that the exact number of Ukrainians executed by the Russians is not known, probably there were at least seven of them.

“These are servicemen of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such a shooting is a war crime! Currently, we also know from which military unit of the Russian army the soldiers who mercilessly executed Ukrainians,” he emphasized.

Lubinets noted that this case must be recorded as another violation of international humanitarian law by Russia.
