Russian invaders openly admitted that the target of their strike in Kharkiv was the hospital run by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine!

This is a direct violation of the Geneva Convention, which states that hospitals and medical personnel in war zones shall be protected from attacks.

This applies to the First Geneva Convention: “For the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field” and the Second Geneva Convention: “For the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked in Armed Forces at Sea,” adopted in 1949.

Article 16 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (1949) states that, “the wounded and sick, as well as the infirm, and expectant mothers, shall be the object of particular protection and respect.”
