The Russians took aim at a high-rise building in Donetsk region: five people were injured

On April 8, Russian troops hit a nine-story building in the city of Selidove in the Donetsk region. Five local residents were injured, including an elderly couple and a 16-year-old girl.

This was reported by the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office.

The shelling took place at 15:40. Currently, law enforcement officers are determining the type of weapon used by the Russians to attack the settlement.

As of 8 p.m., five victims are known, including an elderly couple and a 16-year-old girl. The victims suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity.

The emergency services of the Donetsk region said that as a result of the impact, the ceiling between the 5th and 6th floors was destroyed, and a fire also broke out in the apartment on the 5th floor.

Rescuers rescued four residents from the 4th and 8th floors of the building, who could not leave the premises on their own due to the fire.

The prosecutor’s office has started a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On April 7, one civilian of the Donetsk region was killed and another was wounded as a result of shelling by Russian troops in Chasovoy Yar, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, said.
