The Russians took out half a million tons of Ukrainian grain from the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia

The Russians exported about 500,000 tons of wheat from the Zaporizhzhia region and plan to export another 200,000 tons. In total, about 1 million tons of grain and industrial crops were stolen from the occupied territories.

This year, about half a million tons of wheat were exported from the Zaporizhzhia region, and another 200,000 tons are planned to be exported. Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, told about this on the air of the telethon.

We are talking about 1 million tons of both technical and grain crops in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Russians deliver our grain to the occupied Crimea or to the continental part of the Russian Federation, from where the grain is exported to third countries – says Fedorov.

He noted that this year, about half a million tons of wheat were exported from the region, which is one seventh of all grain exported by Russia. It is planned to export another 200,000 tons.

There was a total of approximately 1.8 million hectares of land in the Zaporizhzhia region. Now 80% is occupied, so approximately 1.4 million hectares are controlled by the Russians and a large amount of crops are grown on these territories. When we talk about 1 million tons, it is because such a figure was fixed in 2022-2023, when the Russians stole it from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. It is not only the harvest of a particular year. We understand that there was a large amount of grain in grain warehouses, elevators and the port of Berdyansk, which the Russians also stole. Therefore, this is not a figurative amount, but an amount calculated from the availability of the grain that was in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
